Cora Thompson
Tufts University Head Coach
Coach Cora Thompson has extensive experience in the sport of volleyball and the MAVCA is excited to have her as a presenter at the 2025 MAVCA Coaches Clinic.
Coach Thompson is an eight-time New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Coach of the Year and three-time American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Northeast Region Coach of the Year.
Coach Thompson runs one of the top women’s volleyball programs in New England. Having finished her 22nd season as Head Coach at Tufts University in 2024, Coach Thompson’s teams have won three NESCAC titles, have made 12 appearances in the NCAA Tournament and 3 NCAA Elite 8 appearances. Coach Thompson has a .737 winning percentage, has coached 30 AVCA All-Americans, 40 AVCA All-Regional Honorees and 56 All-NESCAC Performers. Additionally, she has coached 3 NESCAC Players of the Year and the 3 NESCAC Rookies of the Year.

Kevin Moore
National Team Development Program
Kevin Moore brings a wealth of coaching experience across multiple levels of volleyball. His coaching journey began with boy’s high school volleyball from 2003-08.
Coach Moore transitioned into the men’s collegiate ranks as Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at George Mason University, before becoming Head Coach at Juniata College from 2010-2014. During his tenure at Juniata, Kevin earned Conference Coach of the Year honors in 2011 and 2013. Coach Moore moved into women’s volleyball as Associate Head Coach at Loyola University Chicago, followed by his role as Assistant Coach at Northwestern University from 2016-2020. During this time he also developed high level athletes at the club level.
Kevin has been actively involved wtih USA Volleyball for nearly 20 years, playing a key role in High Performance and National Team Development Programs (2005-2023). His extensive contributions include serving as Assistant Coach for the USA Volleyball Youth National Team in 2013 and Assistant Coach for the U19 World Championships in 2023. Additionally, he served on the Men’s Division III All-American Committee.
Coach Moore currently serves as the Indoor Manager for USA Volleyball’s NTDP and is instrumental in identifying, training and developing the next generation of elite volleyball athletes.
The MAVCA has been offering a one day Coaches Clinic for over 30 years, attended by coaches from high schools, clubs and colleges from all over New England. The goal of the MAVCA is to offer a clinic that provides the attendees an opportunity to learn new techniques, drills, coaching philosophies, networking opportunities and mentorship.
Good coaches never stop learning and the MAVCA Coaching Clinic is your chance to learn from the top coaches in the country. This clinic is for YOU whether you coach high school girls, boys, youth, college, or prep!
